P5 'What a Character' Clay Workshop

Miss McAnerney's P5 class recently welcomed local artist Andrea McCullough-Alderdice into their class to lead the children in a clay workshop 'What a Character!' The children used the pottery skills they developed during their time at the Island Arts Centre in modelling their ' Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 'characters. They glazed the finished models and Andrea then fired these in the kiln. We are thrilled with the finished results that are now on display in school. You should be able to spot some well known characters from the novel, including 'Augustus Gloop' and his chocolate covered face! Many thanks to Andrea for this wonderful experience.
